Dear Animation Studios of the World,
Please, please consider adapting Dreamer in the FALLS into an anime. I just finished the book and I’ve never been so emotionally attached to a story before. Torm reminds me of Sheeta from Laputa—brilliant, kind, and full of hidden strength. The world feels like a Ghibli painting come to life: the mineral machines, dream slumber, the floating balloon rides, the sister's slow illness, even the villain with a butterfly trap. It’s tragic and hopeful at the same time.
If I could watch this with a Joe Hisaishi score and hand-drawn backgrounds, I’d cry all over again. Dreamer in the FALLS isn’t just a book—it’s already a movie in my head. Someone has to make it real.
Sincerely,
Rae, 16, Dreamer forever
To the Creative Minds at Studio Ghibli (or anyone who loves them),
Dreamer in the FALLS feels like the spiritual child of Spirited Away, Nausicaä, and The Wind Rises. The storytelling is gentle and wild. It's both whimsical and grounded. There are dream machines, girls with impossible burdens, a dying village, and the purest bond between sisters I’ve read since My Neighbor Totoro.
This story aches in all the right ways. I beg you—please animate this world. I want to see the music boxes, the rusted airships, the quiet sleeping village under a dream spell. The book reads like a storyboard already drawn in the mind of Miyazaki himself.
Let this story take flight. The world needs it. I need it.
From the bottom of my heart,
Masaki, 29, lifelong anime fan
Dear Anime Producers,
As a mother and an illustrator, I read Dreamer in the FALLS with my daughter—and we were transformed. It's more than a fantasy story. It's a delicate portrait of grief, hope, and imagination. The book has a Ghibli soul—I truly mean that. You can feel it in the wind-powered chemistry, the melancholic lullabies, the bittersweet dreams, and the desperate courage of children.
Torm, Avio, and Lilix deserve to live beyond the page. I want to see the shadow cloud move in flowing ink. I want to hear the violin waltz that plays for a sleeping sister. I want to believe that the river can be saved by love.
Please animate this story. Not just for my daughter—but for every child who dreams of fixing the world.
With love and admiration,
Naomi C., 41, artist, mother, dreamer
